We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives, expand market presence, and drive revenue generation. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing business development strategies, identifying new market opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and overseeing a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in business lending, financial services, commercial finance, or fintech, along with a proven ability to build strong client relationships and achieve ambitious growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company growth goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, referral networks, and revenue channels.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage business development and sales professionals to achieve performance targets.
  • Establish relationships with business owners, industry partners, brokers, and strategic affiliates.
  • Drive the acquisition of new clients seeking business financing solutions.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop expansion strategies and revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and implement initiatives to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and business development meetings.
  • Work closely with underwriting, funding, and operations teams to enhance the customer experience.
  • Develop and manage key accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable lending regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales leadership, commercial lending, financial services, or fintech.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing revenue-generating partnerships and sales strategies.
  • Strong understanding of small business financing, commercial lending, and alternative funding solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze business opportunities and develop strategic growth plans.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Experience within business lending, merchant financing, commercial banking, or fintech organizations.
  • Established network of business owners, referral partners, brokers, and industry contacts.
  • Experience managing multi-location or regional business development teams.
